The bridge spans the St. Joseph River, connecting the main campus with the Hefner Soccer Fields, the Plex, the Holiday Inn.
Built at a cost of 4.2 million dollars to presently allow walking to an empty field its a bit hard to not be skeptical and think how better the money could have been used to help the citizens of Fort Wayne. Hopefully it will someday become more apparent as to the need to rush into such an expensive expenditure. Until then it sure makes a neat picture, all 4.2 million dollars worth of it! In all fairness the Venderly family donated 1 million dollars towards its creation so only 3.2 million of your tax dollars went into the project. Hope no one needed that 3.2 million...
