The fourth and present Caldwell County courthouse was completed in February 1941. The building was designed to be one of the most modern in western Kentucky by Lawrence Casner of Madisonville. The building was constructed under the direction of the Works Progress Administration and financed with grant money. The final cost of the courthouse was $178,997.
