In 1927, this concrete archway was built to designate the state boundary between Missouri and Arkansas along US Hwy 61. It is located in Steele, MO and is within a mile from Blytheville, AR. Hwy 61 runs tangent to I-55 nearby where Hwy 61 splits off at a turn in I-55. Continuing on Hwy 61 from Missouri into Arkansas will take you into Blytheville, AR where the Poor Boy Cafe is located. Both this unusual border crossing archway and the visit to Blytheville for lunch were worth the side trip along US Hwy 61.
