Tafarn Y Cadwgan is a public house on Market street in Aberaeron, a Port town in Ceredgion, Wales. The name I believe translates to 'Tavern of Cadwgan' or Cadwgan's Tavern'.
The pub sign looks to be of the angle from over the smaller end of the harbour to the south-west of the pub. The ship that is in front of it looks far to big, ergo to deep a hull to go in this small harbour. So I would think it wasn't painted in life.
