In 1658, Witte de With was buried in the church and then also Kortenaer in 1665 and Jan van Brakel 1690.
During the bombing on May 14, 1940, Laurenskerk suffered severe losses. Initially there were voices to the church to scrap, but this was blocked by the German occupiers.
The church contains a variety of sights, including the bronze doors, which were designed by the famous Italian sculptor. The 65 meter high tower remains open on Saturdays from April to September between 12:30 pm and 14:00 pm to the public.
