Caddo County was organized in 1901 when the area was opened for settlement. The first county business was conducted out of a tent, and later in a small frame building. A beautiful three-story brick courthouse was constructed in 1902, but was replaced in 1958 by the current two-story building.
The word Caddo comes from "kaadi" of Chief. The current population of the county is 30,150. Anadarko is the County Seat.
The building houses the district courts, as well as offices for county administration, the District Attorney and judicial officers. The court Clerk office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 to 3:00. County records can be accessed online (see link below).
This is a two-story tan and white brick building. the first and second floors are separated by a white band. The second floor windows are narrow and have wood frames extending out from them, with modernistic grill work.
Photos are shown on each side of the building, however, clear photos were not possible due to construction and the chain link fence barrier.
