The first few openings of the Blocks dates from the year 2000, mainly in highest blocks in the mill sector. From 2003 almost all were open to currently existing lines in the Park sector and other Mill sector.

The Natural Park of Serra de Aire e Candeeiros is a protected area created in May 4th, 1979 and has an area of ??about 38,900 hectares.
It consists of huge caves, lapias fields, cliffs and a large underground river system.
As a key element of this region we have the rock and the modeling of natural elements gave rise to numerous caves and galleries: a paradise for speleologists.
