Stary Plzenec - originally a castle Pilsen, later Old town Pilsen or Plzenec. In 1902 the town was promoted to city. The town uses the old CoA that is derived from the coat of arms Premyslids side branches, called Depoltitz.
Character Description:
Verticaly halved shield. On the right, the red half of a silver double-tailed lion without Czech crown, turned right, the left, a silver half black half is left-looking eagle, also without a crown.

Puvodne hrad Plzen, pozdeji mestecko Stará Plzen cili Plzenec. R. 1902 bylo mestecko povýšeno na mesto. Užívalo starého znaku, který se odvozuje od erbu vedlejší vetve Premyslovcu, zvané Depoltici. Podle toho má být ovšem levé pole znaku s cernou orlicí stríbrné a nikoli zlaté, jak se v našich pomuckách obvykle popisuje.
Popis znaku:
Svisle rozpoltený štít. V pravé, cervené polovine je stríbrný dvouocasý lev ceský bez koruny, doprava obrácený; v levé, stríbrné polovine je polovice cerné doleva hledící orlice, rovnež bez koruny.
