Located in Plymouth County, Iowa, Westfield has a population of 189 as of the 2000 census. It is commonly known as the westernmost point in Iowa, due to a bend in the Big Sioux River, which divides Iowa from South Dakota.
The population of Westfield has decreased about 6% since the 2000 census.
The area was settled by German, Irish, English, Danish, Dutch, and Scottish immigrants and the town was incorporated on May 27, 1903.
