This lion is on the left side of an attractive fountain in the Gardens of the Versailles Palace.

This 1687 bronze sculpture is entitled "Lion Terrassant un Sanglier" or in English "Lion Killing a Wild Boar". The lion faces the main part of the fountain while the boar, under him and still struggling apparently has a spout coming out of its mouth. On the other side of the fountain is a sculpture of a lion killing a wolf.
The artists are Jean-Melchior Raon and Balthasar Keller.
