The Cook’s Chasm Viewpoint is located on U.S. Hwy. 101 at the south end of the Cook’s Chasm Bridge. This sign at the trailhead at north end of viewpoint parking area contains a map of the area with a You Are Here marker. The trail provides a 3/4 mile loop trip with a closer view of the spouting horn, a large shell midden of mussel shells left by generations of Alsea Indians, the remains of a 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps camp and tidepools.
