[EN] Train station Ostrava-Svinov is the most important train station in Ostrava. The station was modernized in the years 2004-2006.

Station was established thanks to the Emperor Ferdinand Northern Railway (Kaiser Ferdinands Nordbahn), which connected Vienna with salt mines in Halic. The first train arrived on the 1st May 1847.
17.12.1855 Ostrava-Svinov - Opava vychod put into operation
1911-1926 was in operation the railway Ostrava-Svinov - Klimkovice
1915-1948 was in operation the railway Ostrava-Svinov - Kyjovice-Budisovice
22.12.1964 Ostrava-Kuncice - Ostrava-Svinov put into operation
[CZ] Ostrava-Svinov je nejdulezitejsi nadrazi v Ostrave i v regionu. Lezi na druhem a tretim narodnim zeleznicnim koridoru. V letech 2004-6 probehla modernizace nadrazi, byl postaven podchod a pristavena sklenena pristavba k puvodni budove.
Zastavuji tady vsechny druhy vlaku vcetne SC.
Nadrazi lezi na trase Severni drahy cisare Ferdinanda (Kaiser Ferdinands Nordbahn), ktera spojovala Viden se solnymi doly v Halici. Provoz byl zahajen 1.5.1847.
17.12.1855 uvedla spolecnost KFNB do provozu trat do Opavy vychod.
1911-1926 provoz mistni drahy do Klimkovic (premenena na tramvajovou trat, zrusena 31.12.1977)
1925-1948 provoz mistni drahy do Kyjovice-Budisovice (premenena na tramvajovou trat, zrusena koncem 60. let)
22.12.1964 byla uvedena do provozu trat z Ostrava-Kuncice do Ostrava-Svinov a tzv. Polanecka spojka.
2002-2003 modernizace 2. koridoru
2004-2006 doslo k modernizaci a elektrifikace trate do Opavy vychod.
