This look out on Long Lake Road, just off Hwy 5-A provides information on an earlier transportation route. The plaque reads:
"From Kamloops to the Sea
Utilized from 1849 to 1860, a portion of the Historical Brigade Trail passed along this side of Stump Lake. Established as a horse portage route for the Hudsons Bay Company, the Brigade Trail was instrumental in providing a fur trade link between Kamloops and Fort Vancouver."
