This historic covered bridge is located on the North Fork of the Yachats River, near the end of the North Fork Road. At forty-two feet in length it is one of the shortest covered bridges in Oregon. It was built in 1938 at a cost of $1500. The bridge was built by veteran bridge builder, Otis Hamer and was the last bridge he constructed. The timber construction of the bridge is Queenpost Truss style. The flared sides of the bridge result from the buttresses underneath the siding. The bridge was placed on the National Register in 1979. The bridge was rehabilitated in 1984 and there are plans for additional rehabilitation work in the near future.
