The Freedom Tree is a large live oak tree. Beneath the tree is a memorial plaque that reads:

The Freedom Tree
With the vision of universal freedom
for all mankind
this tree is dedicated by
the students of U. of Fla.
to all
Prisoners of War
and
Missing in Action
1972

So far the omnivorous tree is only eating part of the concrete base bearing the plaque, but it looks like it's just a matter of time until the plaque starts getting consumed as well.

Type of Tree: Live Oak
