The Enchanted Highway was the brainchild of teacher and school principal Gary Greff from the small town that is 32 miles south of I-94. In an effort to attract people and businesses to Regent, North Dakota, Greff started by building The Tin Family (

Seven rusty oil well tanks were cut apart and welded together to form the deer. During the move to the site, a foot and antler had to be cut off the Buck because in one place on the trip, two streetlights on either side of the street were too close to allow the Buck to pass through. The foot and antler were reattached on site. On site it took three months to weld the supports.
The Buck is 70 feet tall & 60 feet long while the Doe is 50 feet tall & 50 feet long.
