The reliefs flank the east entrance to the Indiana Statehouse. The relief on the north side of the entrance depicts Indiana Civil War era governor Oliver P. Morton giving a speech to troop. This speech was given on the capitol step and the pillars of the capitol building are visible in the background of the relief. The relief on the south side of the entrance depicts n army officer along with a civilian in a suit holding a top hat visiting a Civil War infirmary. The relief shows a wounded soldier being attended to by a nurse.
The coordinates listed above are the for north relief the south relief is located about 50 feet directly south.
