Daniel Boone carved his name, the date and an arrow pointing west on this rock. Since it is a little tough to make out the carving in the rock, I have created a picture that shows a plain version and an enhanced version.

~ text from the plaque ~
Originally located on a bluff on Stinson Creek in northwest Fulton, about 300 yards north of the Boone's Lick Trail, this rock bears the name D. Boone with the date 1801 and an arrow pointing due west. The gift of Mr. & Mrs. Harry McIntire to the Kingdom of Callaway Historical Society, it was placed here and dedicated November 4, 1967.

History of Mark:
The story goes, Daniel was lost, and marked this rock to have a "bead-crumb" to look for on the way back.
