Long Description:
The green steel Schuyler Heim bridge was built in 1949. It is part of the Terminal Island Frwy, and connects State Route 47 to Route 103, Connecting Terminal Island to Long Beach. It spans the Cerritos Channel, which connects the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The vertical deck is made of steel grate and because of heavy truck traffic, a proposal has been made to replace it with a standard high bridge.... so see it while you can.

Visit Instructions:
1) After you've found a vertical lift bridge, go visit it, get the coordinates, a picture or two of it, and if it is in use or not still as a lift bridge.
Then log it and post your pictures! At least one of the photos must be of you and your GPS there with the bridge in the background. (No old vacation shots or photos off the internet!)
