These two sluice gates can be found in the agricultural zone south of Weil am Rhein just a few steps from the Swiss border.

They were used to control a little river, most probably a man-made canal as there have been many in the area since the Middle Ages.

The gates are in poor condition, some parts have fallen off. It is not dated but most of the structure around is concrete. This was not in use much before the 20th century. I don't know if it was built then or just renewed.
Name of Waterway.: unnamed, probably man-made

Roughly when was the Waterway created?: maybe Middle Ages

Is this waterway working?: Working

What is the condition of the sluice gate?: Falling to pieces

What is/was the water used for?: Irrigation
