This fountain was built in 1912 as part of the Brigham Young Academy. It is situated just west of the main entrance to the building. The academy was established in 1875 and once occupied four buildings on this site. While the main building has been renovated and converted for use as the Provo City Library at Academy Square, the other three buildings were demolished. There is a plaque attached to the fountain, which reads:
"BYU - Beehive Fountain - 1914
Restoration in Memory of the
John Lycurgus Johnson Family"
Setting: Outside
Place: Provo City Library
Use: Planter box
