Despite its location on the edge of well-traveled Utah State Highway 279, these pictographs have remained undisturbed because they are 20 feet or more above the level of the road. There was probably a lot of rubble at the base of the cliffs that was cleared away when the highway was constructed.
Several of the sections of artwork appear to depict one or more hot-air balloonists floating above other depictions of humans and animals below.
There is an interpretive sign on the opposite side of the road from the pictures, but time and the elements have made large portions of it unreadable.
Given their proximity to the public highway, there are no access fees and no limit to visiting hours. You only have to walk a few steps from your automobile and they are totally accessible for those with disabilities.
Visit Instructions:1. You may log as many different waymarks as you wish but you may only log each one once.
2. You must include a close up photo of the pictograph and your GPSr. The pictograph must be recognizable.
3. Tell a little bit about what you learned of the area.
