"The Rosery compartment garden lies at the higher level of all the gardens it can be entered through a wide gap in its west wall, which is closed by a pair of very fine ornamental wrought iron gates with a
highly ornamented overthrow which bears a coronet, a dolphin, the initials CAK and the motto 'Avise la fine'. The garden tapers towards the north end and was restored in 1998/9 to its original layout. It is full of rose beds and great care has been taken to replant with varieties known to have been in the Rosery in the Edwardian period."
