Dewitt House
This House Is On Original
Cellar Of Home Of Egbert
DeWitt, Whose Daughter Maria
Was Mother Of DeWitt Clinton
Governor Of New York.
The sign makers must have incorrectly inserted 'First' in front of 'Governor' because 'First' is cast into the sign, however, the First Governor of New York was George Clinton, not DeWitt Clinton. The word 'First' has been painted over in blue so it doesn't show up as much.
