The plaque is located on the Old Post Office building which now serves as the offices for the Las Vegas School District. The Montefiori Temple was built circa 1884 at this location. It was moved in 1925 to 8th and Columbia to make way for the post office building. The Montefiori Temple now serves as the Newman Center for New Mexico Highlands University.
