Nine of the Martello towers built in Canada still survive.
Quebec City originally had four Martello towers.
Tower No. 1 stands on the Plains of Abraham, overlooking the St Lawrence River. It has been restored as a museum and one may visit it during the summer months.
Tower no. 2 stands close nearby and currently hosts an 1812 Murder Mystery Dinner.
Tower No. 3 was demolished in the 20th century after being used as a residence.
The fourth surviving Martello Tower in Quebec, No. 4, is located in a residential area on the north side of the Upper City overlooking Lower Town.
Les tours Martello canadiennes ont été construites avec des toits coniques amovibles pour les protéger de la neige et la plupart de celles qui ont été restaurées ont désormais des toits fixes de façon à faciliter leur entretien.
La ville de Québec avait à l'origine quatre tours, la tour no 3 a été démolie en 1905. Les trois autres tours ont été restaurées au début des années 1990 par la firme Demontigny Métivier Gagnon Architectes: la première, surplombant le fleuve Saint-Laurent est sur les plaines d'Abraham et fait office de musée, la deuxième est près de l'entrée du parc et est utilisée lors d'évènement spéciaux.
La tour no 4 se trouve dans le faubourg Saint-Jean-Baptiste mais ne peut être visitée.
