 Historic North New Town District

North New Town became fashionable for residential development after 1890. Las Vegas' leading citizens were attracted by the broad streets, large lots and proximity to churches and schools. The district is significant for the large number of quality residences in a wide variety of styles - Queen Anne, Free Classic, Colonial Revival,Bungalow and World's Fair Classic, a local style attributed to Ira H. and W. M. Rapp, leading New Mexico architects from 1895 to 1920. All reflect the City's self image at the time of being a thriving and progressive mercantile community.
