EN: This fountain is located close to the well-known Spalentor. It was built around 1550. The pictures on the pillar are a reproduction of the picture "Bauerntanz" by Hans Holbein d.J., this is why the fountain is also often called "Holbeinbrunnen". The piper on the top is strongly influenced by a etching by Dürer. The statue was replaced by a replica in 1885, the original statue is now in the museum of history.
DE: Dieser Brunnen liegt nahe beim bekannten Spalentor. Er wurde um 1550 gebaut. Die Bilder auf der Brunnensäule sind eine Nachbildung des Bildes "Bauerntanz" von Hans Holbein d.J., der Brunnen wird deshalb oft auch "Holbeinbrunnen" genannt. Der Dudelsackpfeifer auf der Spitze wurde nach einem Stich von Dürer gestaltet. Das Original der Statue wurde 1885 durch eine Nachbildung ersetzt und das Original ins Historische Museum gebracht.
