"Dem Schmied Christian Schönherr spritze bei seiner Arbeit ein Eisensplitter ins Auge.
Sein Augenlicht schien verloren, niemand konnte dem fleissigen Mann helfen.
Er vertraute aber der Mutter Gottes, unternahm eine Wallfahrt nach Maria Waldrast und gelobte den Bau einer Kapelle in der Lände mit dem Bild der Waldraster Mutter Gottes, falls er geheilt würde.
Sein Vertrauen wurde belohnt, er erhielt das volle Augenlicht wieder.

Im Jahre 1770 erbaute er die versprochene Kapelle in der Lände.
