Kirchlich gehörte Zams früher zur Pfarre Stanz. Im 13. Jhdt. verlegte der Pfarrer von Stanz seinen Sitz nach Zams.
Pfarrkirche Zams
Um 1440 wurde die alte Pfarrkirche im gotischen Stil umgebaut. 1911 vernichtete ein Großbrand den größten Teil des Dorfes, die Kirche war zum Teil eingestürzt und musste abgetragen werden.
Der Wiederaufbau erfolgte in einem dem Barock nachempfundenen Stil, jedoch nicht an der Stelle, wo die Kirche früher gestanden hatte, sondern aus Verkehrsrücksichten etwas weiter westlich, weshalb der Turm, dessen Mauern standgehalten hatten, heute als freistehender Campanile einen ungewohnten Anblick bietet.
Die heutige neubarocke Kirche wurde 1913 geweiht. Der reichgegliederte Baukörper besteht aus dem, mit einem ortsüblichen Krüppelwalmdach ausgestatteten Saalbau, in das mittlings ein nicht so hohes Querschiff einschneidet.
Während straßenseitig die Sakristei, der überdachte Seiteneingang in das Querschiff und daran anschließend die rundbogige Kriegergedächtnisstätte angebaut sind. Die nur von innen zugängliche Taufkapelle bildet den Abschluss.
