Der Dortmunder Westfalenpark gehört zu den größten und vielfältigsten Parkanlagen Deutschlands. Unter anderem wurde auch ein japanischer Garten auf dem Parkgelände errichtet, in welchem sich auch einige chinesiche Bauelemente mit eingeschlichen haben. Der an einem Hang gelegene Garten gliedert sich einen oberen und einen unteren Bereich, wobei der untere Teil von einem kleinem See dominiert wird. Vom oberen Teil hingegen bietet sich eine schöne Aussicht über den gesamten Garten. Etwas ungewöhnlich erscheint der vergleichsweise offene und fließende Übergang vom Garten zur restlichen Parkanlage.

Zum Westfalenpark gelangt man mit den U-Bahn-Linien 45 und 49, die beide die gleichnamige Haltestelle frequentieren. Der Eintrittspreis für den Park beträgt 1,50 Euro. Da die Anlage recht weitläufig ist (etwa 70 Hektar groß), ist vom Parkeingang bis zum Garten noch ein Fußweg von etwa 10 Minuten Länge zurückzulegen." - Quelle: (visit link)
