Ruthven: Pop. 460. In Gosfield South T, Essex C., on Hwy 3, 7 km. W of Leamington. The community was first known as Inkermanville after a battle in the Crimea in 1854. When the post office opened in 1860, the place was named Ruthven after the first postmaster, Hugh Ruthven.
