Eine Inschrift auf der kleinen Kapelle gibt Auskunft über ihr Entstehen: "Den im Jahre 1805 gefallenen Kriegern, Freunden und Feinden, verschiedenen Kriegsfahnen folgend scharten sich einig unter das Kreuz Jesu Christ".
Gut kann man sich so vorstellen, dass die Kapelle über dem Grab der am 4. November 1805 in den Napoleonischen Kriegen gefallenen Kriegern errichtet wurde, wie die Überlieferung berichtet.
Bestärkt wird dieser Glaube durch die Tatsache, dass es damals in Unterleutasch weder Kirche noch Friedhof gab.
Ihr heutiges Aussehen erhielt die kleine Kapelle mit Turm 1975, als sie von Alfons und Katharina Reindl renoviert bzw. neu erbaut wurde." - Quelle: (
