Wat Phrakaew is one of the major wats in the major northern Thai city of Chiang Rai. The temple is five centuries old and housed at one time the Emerald Buddha, an early Buddhist artefact (now in Bangkok). As with most Thai Buddhist temples this wat has a set of bells, perhaps not as large or as prestigious as I would have expected from a temple of this importance, but a set of bells nevertheless.

The bells are located behind the Wat ordination hall. There are four bells in a frame, each ~1/3m tall. Visitors to the temple are welcome to strike a bell(s), though of course a small donation is always appreciated.
