EN: "Wildenstein Castle is the only surviving hill fort of the Basel region. It lies south of Bubendorf in a tributary of the Hintere Frenke and was inhabited until recently.
1293 Heinrich von Eptingen took over the name "von Wildenstein". Under his son Gottfrid Wildenstein was assaulted by troops of Bern and Solothurn in 1334 because its owner had violated the public peace. The extent of this damage and that of the Basel earthquake of 1356 are not known. 1380 Henmann von Eptingen sold the castle to the brothers and sisters Elsie, Götzmann and Markwart of Baden. Later there were several changes of ownership. Near the castle the "Rappenkrieg" was settled amicably in 1594.
1995 Wildenstein was bought by the canton of Basel-Landschaft, it is not generally open to the public but there are regularly scheduled cultural events in the castle." (Translated from German Wikipedia)

Unter seinem Sohn Gottfrid erlebte Wildenstein wegen eines Landfriedensbruchs seines Besitzers 1334 eine Erstürmung der Burg durch die Berner und Solothurner. Das Ausmass dieser Beschädigung und jener des Basler Erdbebens von 1356 sind nicht bekannt. 1380 verkaufte Henmann von Eptingen die Burg an die Geschwister Elsi, Götzmann und Markwart von Baden. Später erfolgten mehrere Besitzerwechsel. In der Nähe der Burg wurde 1594 der „Rappenkrieg“ gütlich beigelegt.
