EN: The fountain was built in 1677. On the top of the column there is Caritas (charity) surrounded by children.
The fountain is in the inner court of the former Carthusian monastery that was converted into the municipal orphanage in 1669. The orphanage is still in use, so only the part with the church and the fountain are publicly accessible and only in the daytime.
DE: Der Brunnen wurde 1677 von Balthasar Hüglin gebaut. Am oberen Ende der Säule befindet sich Caritas (Nächstenliebe) umgeben von Kindern.
Der Brunnen ist im Innenhof des ehemaligen Kartäuser-Kloster, das im Jahre 1669 zum städtische Waisenhaus umgebaut wurde. Das Waisenhaus existiert immer noch, so dass nur der Teil deLiegenschaft mit der Kirche und dem Brunnen öffentlich zugänglich sind und dies auch nur tagsüber.
