EN: The neo-Gothic church was built in the years 1900/1901 designed by the architect August Hardegger from St. Gallen, the church patrons are the two Saints Gallus and Othmar.

The new building became necessary, as after the First Vatican Council of 1870 in the previously united Swiss Catholic Church split into a Christian Catholic and a Roman Catholic confession and the old church - also named after Gallus - fell to the Christian Catholic Church that held the majority then.

DE: Das neugotische Gotteshaus entstand in den Jahren 1900/1901 nach den Plänen des St. Galler Architekten August Hardegger; Kirchenpatrone sind die beiden Heiligen Gallus und Othmar.

Der Neubau war nötig geworden, als nach dem 1. Vatikanischen Konzil von 1870 auch in Kaiseraugst die bisher einheitliche katholische Kirche sich in ein christkatholisches und ein römisch-katholisches Bekenntnis aufteilte und die altehrwürdige Galluskirche auf Grund der zeitweiligen Mehrheitsverhältnisse der christkatholischen Gemeinde zufiel.
