This newest branch of the OKC Metro Library is located on 122nd St. just east of MacArthur. It serves the northwest communities of Oklahoma City. The library, which opened in May 2012, is one of the first libraries in Oklahoma to be LEED certified.
Some of the sustainability features mentioned on the library's website are: skylights, recycling containers, using regionally harvested materials, geothermal heating and cooling system, drip irrigation system, and low-flow faucets and toilets.
The library boasts 35,000 square feet, at a cost of $8.2 million. It is the third largest library in the metro, and the only one I know of that has a drive-thru book return.
