EN: The church is consecrated to St. Peter and Paul, but this name usually refers to the newer Roman-Catholic church, so it is usually just called Dorfkirche (village church) because it is the only one in the historic center of Allschwil.
It is located on a small hill inside a walled park that was the cemetery once. The church was almost completely rebuilt in 1698/99 only the tower dates back to the 13th century.
The interior of the church is from 1841. Woth noting are also two statues of Peter and Paul from around 1500, the most outstanding pieces of Gothic wood carving in the whole canton.
DE: Die Kirche ist den heiligen Petrus und Paulus geweiht, aber dieser Name bezieht sich gewöhnlich auf die neuere römisch-katholische Kirche, so wird sie meist einfach Dorfkirche genannt, weil es die einzige im Dorfkern von Allschwil ist.
Sie steht auf einem kleinen Hügel in einem ummauerten Park, dem ehemaligen Friedhof. Die Kirche wurde 1698/99 fast vollständig neu erbaut umgebaut, nur der Turm stammt noch aus dem 13. Jahrhundert.
Das Innere der Kirche ist von 1841. Bemerkenswert sind auch zwei Statuen von Petrus und Paulus um 1500, die herausragendsten Stücke gotischen Holzschnitzkunst im ganzen Kanton.
