Appeared to be well restored. In a great location in the Historic District of Breaux Bridge. Now houses an attorney office. It is also easy to find, directly across W. Bridge St from the City Hall/Police Station. The entire Breaux Bridge area is very peaceful and a great place to walk and learn of the history of this fine city.

Great statement about the significance of the house, from the State Application, located here, page states:

The Patin House is locally significant in the area of architecture as a landmark within the late nineteenth/early twentieth century architectural heritage of Breaux Bridge. In 1983 members or the Division of Historic Preservation staff surveyed Breaux Bridge and identified approximately eighty-nine late nineteenth and early twentieth century residences. Most. of these homes are either bungalows, single cottages or shotgun houses. The Patin House is one of only seven residences from this period which stand as landmarks in the town. The Patin House is larger than the vast majority of period houses and features superior detailing. There are a fair number of Eastlake galleries in Breaux Bridge, but very few embrace two sides of the house as the Patin House gallery does. Moreover, the gallery features a distinctive forty-five degree corner cut which further enlivens its three-quarter view. The Patin House has unusually elaborate Eastlake detailing, with unusual squared balusters, as opposed to the usual round members, and spindle screens as opposed to the usual plain boards. The home is also one of only three which display in their gables the wheel motif associated with more elaborate examples of Eastlake styling. Finally, the house also has a relatively elaborate roofline consisting of a gable, a skirting porch roof, and an oversized dormer.
Historical Note
According to courthouse records, the property upon which the Patin House now stands was purchased by Olivia Cormier Patin in 1878. At that time, a small building, its construction not yet complete, was located on the site. This building appears to be the kitchen ell. Olivia sold the property to her son Gaston Patin on November 30, 1885. It was Gaston for whom the Queen Anne/Eastlake main block was built c.1895.
