Behind the fenced plot of Parker pioneer William Newlin lie three unmarked graves covered with white stones. According to family lore, the graves contain the remains of Moses Parker and his family. As the story goes, Moses committed suicide after the his wife Hattie and their daughter Mary died of cholera sometime in the late 1890s. Because of the nature of his death, he could not be buried in the city cemetery and Mr. Newlin allowed them to rest on his property.
The area has now been developed, but the Newlin Cemetery and nearby Tallman/Newlin Cabin have been preserved by the Parker Area Historical Society.
