'The Port of Liverpool wind farm is a row of four turbines situated in the commercial docks at Liverpool, Merseyside. The turbines have been built along the dock wall between Alexandra and Huskisson docks, and overlooking the River Mersey.
The development consists of four Nordex N90, 2.5-MW turbines producing a total of 10MW of electricity. The turbines are 80m to the hub and have blades of 45m, which gives a height of 125m to the blade tip.
Environmental impact assessment scoping commenced in August 2004, and the development became fully operational in early 2009. Consent was awarded to construct five turbines across the boroughs of Liverpool and Sefton. However, the fifth turbine was not constructed after it was determined that it could interfere with port operations.'
