Rosholt is located in Roberts County, South Dakota. It has a population of 423 as of the 2010 census, an increase in the population of about 1% from the 2000 census.

The area was settled by German, Norwegian, Swedish, Czech, Dutch, and Irish immigrants and the town was incorporated on August 14, 1913.

A brief history of Rosholt starts when the Sisseton-Wahpeton Reservation was opened for settlement in 1892 with a “Run” for property. The run came under the “Homestead Law”. Under the Homestead Law, no land could be bought at any price, but farms were given free to any citizen who would live on them. It was early in 1913 that a reservation citizens group approached Julius Rosholt, who was a well-known railroad promoter and entrepreneur. Mr. Rosholt met with the group and presented them with an impressive plan for a proposed railroad. The town of Rosholt was born out of the hopes, dreams, optimism and entrepreneurial courage of Julius Rosholt and a visionary citizenry. The first lots in Rosholt were sold on August 11th, 1913.

Main Street includes a medical clinic, grocery store, gas and service station, car dealership, flower & gift shop, photography studio, hair salon, post office, insurance and law offices, furniture store, mortuary, bank, trucking business, and liquor sales. Within blocks of Main Street is a newspaper and printing office, a museum, day care, a gas/convenience store, the region's largest grain elevator with rail site, corn ethanol plant, café, full-service auto repair, lumber yard, and RV campground.

The town has a K-12 school system with students ranked 10th highest in the state.

To post a log to an existing U.S. Post Office waymark, you will need to post a picture of the front of the building, with the name of the post office in the background if that is possible.

A description of your Post Office is required, such as when it was built, history, outstanding or unique features, population of the city or town, just do a quick internet search and find an interesting bit of information about the city or town and add it to the long description, to make it more interesting. Even just adding in the population of the area can give others an idea of how many people this post office serves. This description should be at least three sentences.

If your Post Office has any unusual or unique features that you feel others would enjoy viewing, additional pictures are always welcome.
Including your gps device in the picture is not necessary, but wouldn't be cause for disapproval, as long as all other details of your log are acceptable.
