This POW MIA US flag was a combined effort between Merrill, Malin and Tulelake, CA and was dedicated in Merrill, OR in 1984 to all the POWs, MIAs and their families. There is a nearby water tank that stands 80 tall and this flag stands almost as tall as the water tank.
The following text comes from a marble plaque that sits at the base of the flag:
