This memorial is located in Heritage Park, which is part of the Old Mill Museum and requires a nominal entrance fee. After passing through the gate of the park, which is a collection of olde buildings and artifacts front the McPherson County area, you pass by a flower garden. A short distance later, a flagpole rises surrounded by more flowers, and in front of the flagpole is a rock with a bronze plaque attached.
The plaque speaks volumes about a young man who gave his life for all of us. It reads:
In memory of
STEVE W. TRAIN
1LT. USAF who was shot down on April 3, 1970
while on a mission over South Viet Nam
He will be remebered with pride by
all who knew him
by
Lindsborg High School Class of 1963 and
his many friends
