Concordia City Park is a large park near the Nazareth Convent and Academy. The statue is located approximately half way down the 11th Street side, set back from the street with trees partially surrounding it. The Concordia Centennial Time Capsule is located directly in front of it and there is a parking lot close by.
The statue is of a young man in a relaxed, seemingly nonchalant pose. The bronze of the statue shows some discoloration, and the front and back plaques are somewhat hard to read. There is a softness and simplicity to the sculpture, and the detail on the young man's thumb being hooked into his belt speaks volumes about any young man who's ever went off to fight his nation's battles.
