Established in 1927 as John Rodgers Airport and took its present name in 1951. The airport has 4 major runways including the Reef Runway that was named an alternate Space Shuttle landing site. Reef Runway was the world's first runway built on reclaimed offshore land. The airport also has facilities for seaplanes. We were only in the airport long enough to get from the gate to our baggage and shutttle. However we walked by all the standard high priced food, coffee shops, News Stands, etc.
