EN: The Capuchin monastery in Dornach was made possible by an legacy. Maria Magdalene von Roll (1604 - 1672) donated 6000 guilders for the founding of a monastery in Dornach. The construction lasted from 1674 to 1676.
The monastery was active until 1990. Since there were too few new entries, the remaining monks gave up the monastery and distributed themselves to other monasteries in central Switzerland. The canton of Solothurn gave the right to use to the foundation "Stiftung Kloster Dornach" and finally gave them the deed of gift in 1999 at the 500th commemoration of the Battle of Dornach.
The foundation runs the monastery as a social, cultural and religious center. The complex includes a hotel, restaurant and conference and banqueting facilities. The former monastery church is shared by all three national churches for worship and is popular for weddings.
DE: Das Kapuzinerkloster in Dornach wurde von durch eine Erbschaft ermöglicht. Maria Magdalena von Roll (1604 – 1672) vermachte 6000 Gulden für die Gründung eines Klosters in Dornach. Der Bau dauerte von 1674 bis 1676.
Das Kloster war bis 1990 aktiv. Da es zuwenig neue Eintritte gab, verteilten sich die verbliebenen Mönche auf andere Klöster in der Innerschweiz und gaben das Kloster auf. Der Kanton Solothurn überschrieb das Nutzungsrecht an die "Stiftung Kloster Dornach" und übergab ihr 1999 anlässlich der 500-Jahr Gedenkfeier der Schlacht bei Dornach die Schenkungsurkunde.
Die Stiftung führt das Kloster als soziales, kulturelles und religiöses Zentrum. Die Anlage beinhaltet ein Hotel, ein Restaurant und Seminar- und Banketträume. Die ehemalige Klosterkirche wird von allen drei Landeskirchen für Gottesdienste genutzt und ist beliebt für Hochzeiten.
