This is an abstract sculpture called 'Gotland Description' which is located at the 'Seufzerallee' / 'Arthur-Menge-Ufer' nearby to the AWD-Arena in Hannover, Germany, Niedersachsen.

The sculpture was created by Hans-Jürgen Breuste in 1972. Breuste was born in Hannover in 1933.

The sculpture is dedicated to a German ship named 'Gotland' which was destroyed in the Second World War in the east sea. There had been lots of refugees on the ship.
