Update February 2019 - It has been reported that the Titan II was taken down when the Transportation Building was removed.

The Titan II is located in a courtyard at the Transportation Building. The doors to the courtyard have been found locked and unlocked on different visits, and we could not determine the schedule for access to the courtyard. The rocket can be seen through windows in the doors should the doors be locked.

The rocket has the number 4506 painted on its side. A bronze plaque is mounted on the metal framework which supports the rocket. It reads:

TITAN II

Served as the Launch Vehicle for the Gemini Space
Program of NASA in which Two Oklahomans were
Orbited in Space

Astronaut Gordon Cooper, Shawnee, Oklahoma,
Was Boosted into Space Orbit Aboard Gemini 5
On August 21, 1965.

Astronaut Thomas Stafford, Weatherford
Oklahoma, was Boosted into Space Orbit
Aboard Gemini 6 on December 15, 1965, and
Gemini 9 on June 3, 1966.

The Titan also Served as an IBM

Approximately 100 feet west of the Titan II stands an unmarked missile. We were unable to determine its type or specifications. (Photos shown in gallery).

State Fair Park is located just northeast of the I-40 & I-44 intersection, at the 10th St. East exit off of I-44. This is a area of over 435 acres, and is one of the largest facilities in the nation. The main gate is open from 6AM to the closing of any event currently going on. Due to construction and improvements, some gates are temporarily closed at this writing. Check this website for gate information. http://okstatefair.com/state-fair-park/maps-directions/ The State Fair of Oklahoma occurs in mid-September each year for eleven days. The dates for 2012 are: September 13-23. Fair hours are 8AM to closing (at discretion of fair personnel). Buildings are open from 10am to 9pm.
